    The Backpack Fund has received gift cards from local restaurants and a Cavs Swag Bag from the Cleveland Cavaliers to raffle off to our donors! Every $15 donated to The Backpack Fund will result in one entry into the raffle for our donors. The funds raised during the giveaway will be used to support our Supply Drop on August 14 and our scholarship. The raffle is a “thank you” to our donors who make our work at The Backpack Fund possible. 

    The gift cards will be awarded together as a single prize. The Cavs Swag Bag will be awarded as a separate prize. Thank you to the restaurants who donated gift cards and the Cleveland Cavaliers for supporting The Backpack Fund.

 

How to enter the raffle:

  1. Every $15 donated to The Backpack Fund will result in one entry into the raffle.

 

Eligibility:

  1. Be a resident of Lake County, Ohio. The winner of the raffle will need to provide proof of residence in Lake County, Ohio.

  2. Cannot be a staff member or volunteer of The Backpack Fund.

  3. Cannot be immediate family of a staff member or volunteer of The Backpack Fund.

 

Timeline:

  1. Any donations made from January 1, 2021 to August 10, 2021 at 11:59 pm will be entered into the raffle.

  2. The recipient of the award will be contacted on August 11, 2021. The winner will be contacted via the email they used for their donation.

 

Selecting a winner:

  1. The Backpack Fund will use computer software to randomly select a winner from the pool of people that entered the raffle. The software will generate a list of ten people. The first person on the list will be contacted as the recipient of the gift cards. The second person on the list will be contacted as the recipient of the Cavs Swag Bag. The additional people on the list will be contacted in the event that the first people are ineligible or do not respond.

  2. If the recipient of the raffle is under 18 years old they will need parent or guardian permission to accept the award. A parent or guardian must be present at the time of receiving the award.

  3. Photo ID verification will be needed to verify age and address of the recipient. 

  4. The recipient will be awarded the prize on August 14 at The Backpack Fund Supply Drop

  5. If the initial recipient does not respond to notification of selection within 24 hours of being informed they received the award a new recipient will be selected. The same 24 hour period will apply to the next person notified until a recipient responds to notification of award.
