EMILY RINGLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Emily lived her life to the fullest. She had a kind and caring personality and was always bringing joy to people. Emily graduated from Riverside High School in 2017 and went to Ohio University to pursue becoming a nurse. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at the age of 19 and fought bravely for 15 months. After getting diagnosed with cancer, Emily maintained a positive attitude and showed that she had the strength to fight with a smile on her face. She loved spending time with people and she had a loving family and friends always by her side.

Emily was a symbol of hope and strength for the people who were close to her. Her loving and caring personality had her always putting others before herself even when she was struggling the most. In order to honor Emily, The Backpack Fund has created a scholarship opportunity for a Riverside senior from the class of 2023. The scholarship will be worth $1,000.
